Processing in Sweden
Where your content is processed, stated as four statements you can check.
These four statements are the claims this site makes about where your content is processed. Each one holds against the platform’s code, with the exceptions it states. Last verified 2026-10-11.
The four statements
- Transcription and diarization never leave own hardware.Speech recognition and speaker separation run on our own GPUs in Stockholm. Unconditional — no setting changes it.
- Default inference is Sweden-resident, via an external service; the last resort is in the US.AI analysis runs by default at Berget.ai, with Sweden-resident inference. It is a third party. If Berget.ai does not answer, text analysis moves to our own hardware and, as the last resort, to OpenRouter (Claude Haiku, routed in the US), asked not to collect or retain the content. Images and PDF pages go from Berget.ai straight to that last resort. Free accounts never reach an external provider.
- With your own key, your provider is the only external one.Your one primary AI key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Berget or OpenRouter) serves all AI analysis. If it stops working, the analysis waits and you are told; nothing is sent to another provider. Transcription stays on our own hardware.
- Local-only is a hard stop.With local-only processing, nothing is sent to any external service: transcription and text analysis run on our own hardware, images and PDF pages wait — with the reason shown — until local-only is turned off, and integrations that depend on the cloud refuse to start. Each step of a recording records where it ran.
Country, operator and host, and whether it was the first choice or a fallback. You can see it per recording. A step that ran without a record — such as every step of a recording processed before 11 October 2026, and a few paths not yet covered — shows as not recorded.
The meeting notetaker
The meeting notetaker, in beta, is the one case where a third party handles audio. Recall.ai records the meeting, under a data processing agreement, and stores the recording in the EU (Frankfurt) until our copy is verified, and at the latest for 7 days. Export and deletion
The privacy policy lists what you can do with your data: access it, correct it, export your transcriptions, and delete your account and everything in it.
A single transcription is deleted from the Web App or from record-me. The whole account is deleted in the Web App under Settings, Account, or by e-mail to support. What is deleted, and when, is set out on the data deletion page.
Local-only processing
Local-only processing, statement 4 above, is available on request. It is not a setting you switch on yourself.
